Hyatt Hotels has announced its first branded hotels in Kenya – in partnership with Kanha limited.
Hyatt Place Westlands and Hyatt House Westlands – will comprise 233 guestrooms in total, and are both expected to open in early 2020.
According to the company, the brands are a result of extensive consumer research indicating that guests seek stylish, comfortable, seamless experiences that accommodate their lifestyles and familiar routines.
Hyatt Place Westlands will have 173 guestrooms, while Hyatt House Westlands will have 60 apartment styled suites.
The two properties will offer an array of shared services and amenities – including 7,500 square feet of meeting space, a restaurant and bar, and a swimming pool.
According to the company’s Regional vice president for development in Africa, Tejas Shah, the hotels will be in one of the most prominent mixed-use developments in the heart of the Westlands, Nairobi.
The area has already seen significant growth, including increased premium office space, entertainment venues, prominent retail centres, and food and beverage outlets.
Shah says Kenya is one of Hyatt’s principal areas of focus – on the backdrop that the country is expected to see double-digit growth in the tourism sector this year.
